I am a 28 year old landscape photographer focusing on the wilderness areas of Southern Illinois. As a native to the area much of my youth was spent hiking and camping, giving me a deep appreciation for the natural beauty found here. From the vistas and sandstone hoodoos at Garden of the Gods to America's northernmost cypress swamp, this region is a treasure-trove of hidden gems.

The goal of my images is to share some of the inspiration I find in these special places. Although photographs can never recreate the sights, smells, sounds, and feeling of being there in person, it is my hope that by capturing strong compositions in rare light I can convey some sense of place while working within the limitations of the medium. This sometimes requires waiting months or even years for the right conditions to emerge.
